About True Line Electrical

REC 34185
Licensed Electrician
Meet Nik
I started True Line Electrical to focus on the work that actually matters — compliance, safety, and upgrades that protect Melbourne homeowners and landlords.
After years in the industry, I saw too many electricians rushing through jobs, cutting corners, and leaving customers confused about what they actually needed. I wanted to do things differently.
Every job I take on gets the same attention to detail: proper documentation, clear communication, and work that meets current Australian Standards. No shortcuts, no upsells, no surprises.
Who we are
True Line Electrical is a Melbourne-based residential electrical business specialising in compliance, safety, and upgrades.
We focus on the work that protects homeowners, landlords, and tenants — not low-margin, rushed jobs. Every inspection and upgrade is completed to current Australian Standards with proper documentation.
We are not generalists. We don't chase every electrical job that comes through the door. Instead, we specialise in compliance-driven work where quality and documentation matter more than speed.
This focus allows us to deliver consistent, reliable service without cutting corners. Our clients know exactly what they're getting: fixed pricing, clear communication, and work that meets current standards.
Our approach
Do it properly
Every job meets current standards. No shortcuts, no compromises on safety.
Explain it clearly
Plain English findings. No jargon. No scare tactics. You understand what is needed and why.
Price it transparently
Fixed pricing wherever possible. No call-out fees, no hidden charges, no invoice surprises.
What we don't do
Being clear about what we don't offer is as important as what we do. We focus on compliance and upgrades — not everything electrical.
Solar panel installation
Outside our specialisation. Requires different licensing and equipment.
Battery storage systems
Not part of our service offering. We focus on core electrical compliance.
Emergency callouts
We schedule work in advance to maintain quality. For emergencies, contact 24/7 services.

We service inner and middle-ring Melbourne suburbs. This focused service area allows us to maintain consistent response times and build relationships with local property managers and homeowners.

Common Questions
Are you available for emergency callouts?+
No — we schedule work in advance to maintain quality and consistency. For genuine electrical emergencies (sparks, burning smell, power loss), contact a 24/7 emergency electrician.
Do you work on weekends?+
Our standard hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Weekend work may be available for larger projects by arrangement, but most compliance checks and inspections are scheduled during the week.
Can you provide a quote over the phone?+
For our core services (rental safety checks, switchboard upgrades, EV readiness), yes — we have fixed pricing and can provide quotes based on your description. For complex jobs, a brief site visit may be required.
Do you offer payment plans?+
Payment is due on completion of work. For larger jobs (switchboard upgrades), we can discuss payment terms. We do not offer payment plans for standard compliance checks.
Are you insured?+
Yes — we carry comprehensive public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance. Certificates of currency available on request for property managers and agencies.
Do you subcontract work?+
Occasionally, we work with trusted, vetted electrical contractors we have established relationships with. All subcontractors are fully licensed and insured, and we maintain full accountability for the quality of work delivered.
Do you work on commercial properties?+
Yes — we handle facility management and strata commercial work that aligns with our core services, such as compliance checks, switchboard upgrades, and safety inspections. For large-scale commercial projects outside our specialisation, we can recommend trusted partners.
How far in advance should I book?+
For standard compliance checks, we recommend booking 2-3 weeks in advance. For urgent work, we offer 48-hour turnaround service (additional fee applies). Switchboard upgrades typically require 1-2 weeks notice.
